Asanka is a highly experienced, award-winning FMCG professional with over twenty years’ experience in delivering outstanding results for brands. He has managed many of the world’s leading brands, including Coca-Cola, John West, and The Famous Grouse. He was also responsible for developing the heart health drink Pomegreat (second biggest ambient juice brand between 2005-2008) from scratch: building retail sales to £26m.


Asanka has received a number of marketing industry awards, including the Young Marketer of The Year from Marketing Society Scotland.  He has a strong ethical stance and is committed to projects that benefit society as a whole. Asanka founded Liver Health UK, having seen the impact of liver-related illnesses on his own family. 

Filomena is an Associated Professor in Gastroenterology at University of Naples “Federico II" and a member of the Italian Association for the Study of Liver (AISF) & Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE). She has led numerous clinical trials over the years with more than 100 publications to her credit. Her previous experience also includes a stint at Royal Free Hospital in London at the Department of Surgery, Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Medicine.

Filomena is particularly keen on research in preventive and therapeutic properties of food components to improve liver health. It is this keen interest that brought Asanka and Filomena to work together to transform liver health. She is responsible for the design of LHUK product portfolio and advises the board on health related matters.

Each of us has experienced poor liver health at a personal level; whether that's a family member or by helping those who are affected by the liver disease. The executive team is supported by a group of active Non-Executive Directors.
